CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels are treatments that remove the skin’s outer surface using a type of chemical peeling process. When skin cells mature, they rise to the top, where dead skin cells usually fall to make room for the newer ones. Sometimes dead skin cells accumulate on the surface of the skin. Peels help remove this layer and portions of layers beneath, allowing new tissue to form with fewer flaws.

Peel treatments involve a special type of chemical suspension in a solution being applied to the treatment area. Based on how your skin responds during treatment, the length of time your peel will be in contact with your skin will be determined.
During your initial consultation at Pam Chaney Aesthetics, you will be able to talk about any aesthetic concerns you may have. We will discuss your medical history in order to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for a peel treatment.

Chemical Peel FAQs

A chemical peel, also called a skin peel or face peel, is a procedure in which the outer layers of your skin are removed with a chemical solution. It can also be used on the neck or hands.
A chemical peel speeds up exfoliation and promotes cell turnover, leaving the skin looking fresh and healthy. It does not matter if peeling occurs or not whether the skin improves in texture, tone, and appearance.
All skin types can benefit from chemical peels. However, chemical peels are most effective on fair, thin skin.
You should see some results as soon as your skin has healed. The healing period will vary depending on the person.
Results are not permanent due to skin aging. Having sun damage or precancerous growths (AKs) on your skin will most likely cause you to see new spots and growths.
Healing can take up to a few weeks, which may result in some downtime. Each person will have a different level of downtime.
